San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival
Hello again everyone,
We hope that last letter's article,"Dale and Bernie's
Top 5 Must-Experience Restaurants" helped you enjoy Restaurant Week to its
fullest extent. Bernie and I made it out to both Pamplemousse and A.R. Valentien,
and we were fortunate enough to have Tina Marie join us at Blanca. As always, it
was a wonderful evening and I'm pleased to say that all of the restaurants lived
up to their reputations. There has already been some great feedback posted throughout
the newsletter and I'd love to know your thoughts if you had a chance to participate
in Restaurant Week.
Next on the radar, is the 2009
San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival. This is its 6th annual "go-around"
and for a rather reasonable price, you can come enjoy a substantial variety of fine
wine and food (Somewhere around 170 wineries and 70 restaurants). They run a bunch
of events through the festival and here are a few that sounded interesting:
- Totally Truffles
- Holiday Brunch with Sam the Cooking Guy
- Master Sommelier Blind Tasting
- Wine & Food Pairing with Top-Chef Celebrities
- Sake & Sushi Tasting
- Grand Tasting Event (The Big Sha-bang)
Make sure that you pre-register because these events tend to fill up ahead of time.
But then again,if you're just too busy to make it, I'll leave you
with one of my favorite quotes:
"Wine is a constant proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. "
---Benjamin Franklin
