Bernie and Dale's Enjoyable Afternoon
La Jolla Festival of the Arts
June 26 and 27
9am to 5pm
Hey guys! Summer is finally here which means its festival season. The balloon festival
in Temecula, Fiesta del Sol in Solana Beach and the Rancho Bernardo Festival have
already passed this month. If you attended any of those I hope you enjoyed them
but if you happened to miss any of them the La Jolla Festival of the Arts is just
around the corner.
The La Jolla Festival of the Arts (http://www.lajollaartfestival.org/)
is put on every year by the Torrey Pines Kiwanis Foundation and is among one of
the top art showcases in California. It is located on the UCSD campus in La Jolla
at the corner of Genesee Ave and Regents Road from 9am to 5pm on June 26th and 27th.
Parking is free and admission is ten dollars. The festival features up to 200 award-winning
local and national artists who each illustrate their talents through their own unique
type of art.
Whether it is oil paintings, jewelry, photography, sculptures or music each genre
of art is displayed throughout the festival. As you walk around the grounds the
artists are available for you at their convenience to discuss their pieces. You
may also enjoy the live entertainment such as local musicians and authors. A variety
of cuisines are available to all attendees and "all festival proceeds support educational
programs for San Diegans with disabilities as well as injured soldiers that returned
from Iraq and Afghanistan."
I hope you all consider attending and let us know your thoughts!
